Nonsense. It means nothing of the sort. Check back in 6 months, 3 months or even 1 month and see a) how many ppl are still using it, and b) how many ppl are buying it once the first blush of excitement is over.

Ok I'll rephrase. People want their CONTENT regardless if its playing on bloatware or the latest trend. Allot of content just happens to be encoded in flash.

I'm interested to see what ends up in this refresh. My MacBook Pro is great, but a good base iMac option could be appealing. My guesses:
Base 21.5"
Quad Core i7 (2.2GHz?); 2x2GB 1333 DDR3; 640GB 7200RPM HDD; ATI Radeon HD 6670; Thunderbolt, ditch Firewire?; 1920x1080
Fully Loaded 27"
3.4GHz Quad Core i7; 4x4GB 1333 DDR3; 512GB SSD & 2TB 7200 RPM HDD; ATI Radeon HD 6870 (1GB); 2560x1440I think dual core i7 or i5 is more likely for the base 21.5". It's great there will be newer machines. I won't be upgrading my 4-month-old base. Instead, I'd get a SSD, 128GB or 160GB would do fine for me. Waiting for the prices to fall down.

I know - it's funny how things come full circle.
Mac OS X was all about color and Aqua.
Then, it started moving back to clean, iTunes style windows. OS 9 gray started replacing the "pinstripes" that were with Aqua and the dock became 3D.
Now we're back.
Honestly, I don't mind it. I work on my Mac all day and it's nice to have some more friendly looking programs. I don't see a huge difference in UI differences that it's going to cause me (at least) any inefficiencies; but to each there own.

I like the safari updates like the warnings and ability to consolidate tabs into one window. Those are some little things I've wished for.
There are some add-on's available to accomodate some of these today, but I'm happy to see them finally being integrated into the app itself.

Its clear Apple is missing something in the midrange desk top line. Its time for the Cube or Macintosh or headless iMac or Max Mini or something. iMac isnt for everyone and the world has billions of big beautiful displays just waiting for a midrange Mac but if Apple prices it again the same as the towers it will be another failure. Its way past time for the next Macintosh. Needs a real GPU, at least 1 expansion slot and should be priced right along with ugly iMac:D or a pinch below.
This is not beyond the realm of possibility. I could see Apple modifying the Mac mini at some point to make the graphics card more accessible and upgradeable. But of course it would be a laptop graphics card and not a full desktop graphics card. Do ATI / nVidia sell something like mini-PCI graphics cards to consumers?
But anyway, althought it's a possibility I think it's a slim one, since gamers are just not Apple's focus right now...

And you're really going to use all that are you? With the exception of RAM and hard disks, most computer consumers never expand their computers. So all that space in the case just translates to lost space in the home. I'm a pretty average computer user at home and with the exception of my camera, iPod and printer, I have no external devices. Although I will be purchasing an external firewire drive at some point, I'd much rather have a small squarish metallic box on display behind my iMac than lose an extra three square feet of floor space due to needing a bigger desk. Perhaps when you factor in the cost, the lost square footage of the room your computer is in should be taken into account.

If MS releases this player, which will have full wireless integration with the msTunes Music Store through your home PC with WMA10 or your XBOX360 some people could be persuaded to get it. The end-to-end process in a major part of the iPod experience, and this is MS's plan to get in on it.
Would I get one? No, because I have an Apple computer - but 90% of the world still runs windows, and now they won't have to install third party software or worry about integration issues. Their new PC (or old with new and improved WMA10) will connect right up and automatically fill up their new, media device - all without wires!
Give MS the benefit of the doubt here. If you dismiss them, you run the risk of falling prey to their marketing/sales/monopoly-position machine.

Faster and faster, until it came to a stop near a few portals. lbro jumped right out, and ran to the nearest one. chrmjenkins and jav6454 followed him across the cold ground. "Dang it! We need a fuel cell for this thing!" lbro exclaimed. "Why don't you take the one out of your book?" chrmjenkins offered.
"You know, that might just work." lbor ran back to the ship and came back with a book that said Don't Panic on the side of it. He flipped it upside-down popped out the fuel cell and tossed Don't Panic aside into a nearby mud puddle. The fuel cell was a size BBB, but the portal needed a BB. lbor, in desperation wedged a few coins into the cell slot along with the fuel cell.
The portal soon turned on and opened into another real, that just so happened to be warm and sunny with little elves walking around. "No, I don't think that's right." lbro said as he spun the Z hold knob. After seeing many wonderful things, he finally got it right. Can you open a third party app (like a game or news app) that isn't already running in the background and let us know if the launch animation runs or whether it still just "pops" on screen like in 4.3 and 4.3.1 ...
I'm glad more regular people are starting to notice this as well. As soon as I saw signs of it in 4.2.1 I knew this was the usual slow down we come to expect, although they started early this time around. :mad:

I dont know of any wireless phone that could support real 4G speeds. Besides on a mobile device, do I really need more than 20mb down, 5 up? Thats already faster than my cable modem lol.
I think Verizon 4G is useful at times. YouTube videos load quick on it, and the upload speed is 5x as fast as my cable modem speed :P. My Verizon 4G speed is about 15 down, 35 up. When YouTube videos stop and freeze while loading and you have to wait, you somewhat wish you had the 4G speed.
